The space agency said Thursday the renewal agreement covers research on engine ice crystal icing and thermal ice protection systems as well as builds on existing cooperation to address other aviation challenges.
“The combined efforts of our two agencies will help solve some of the most difficult and challenging weather-related issues facing the aviation community,” said Jaiwon Shin, associate administrator of NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate.
Shin signed the deal with Ian Potter, NRC’s vice president of engineering, NASA said.
