President Barack Obama nominated Shulkin, president of the New Jersey-based Morristown Medical Center, in March to lead the departmentâs Veterans Health Administration.
Law Firm Newswire reports that Shulkin promised to address accountability issues, long wait times for veterans and rising construction costs at the agency.
The VA is in need of âmore doctors, more nurses, and greater efficiency from its current systems,â he said during his confirmation hearing before the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee.
