Sens. Angus King (I-Maine) and Mark Warner (D-Va.) have pushed for Congress to approve the Office of Personnel Management‘s full fiscal year 2016 funding request in light of the hack on OPM, FCW reported Wednesday.
Sean Lyngaas and Adam Mazmanian write the two Senate Intelligence Committee members made that statement in a letter to Sen. John Boozman (R-Ar), chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on financial services and general government, and called for another sequestration relief package.
Warner also told reporters additional funds for OPM would be intended to secure the agencyâs information technology infrastructure, the report says.
President Barack Obama administrationâs fiscal 2016 budget request for OPM is $272 million, up $32 million from the fiscal 2015 budget, according to the report.
Part of the budget is allocated for network upgrades that started in fiscal 2014, FCW reports.
