1 min read

cybersecurityThe Office of Management and Budget will collect public comments on the agency’s draft guide for how to manage cybersecurity requirements in federal acquisition processes.

OMB said in a notice posted Thursday on the Federal Register that cyber-related threats to federal data systems are on the rise as more agencies offer digital services and use commercial information technology services.

The Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014 as well as guidance from OMB and the National Institute of Standards and Technology offer a framework for agencies and contractors to secure government IT systems, OMB added.

OMB wants government buyers to incorporate cyber strategies in contracts to reduce data security challenges.
