Lawrence Gross Jr. Joins FDIC as CIO

FDIC-logoLawrence Gross Jr., formerly chief information officer of the Farm Service Agency, has been appointed to a similar role at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

The FDIC said Thursday Gross will advise the financial regulatory agency’s senior officials on information technology program management, investment, planning, security and governance issues in his new position,

Before he joined FSA, the more than  25-year federal and military service veteran served as deputy CIO at the Interior Department and as associate CIO at the Treasury, where he oversaw IT portfolios of both agencies.

He also held IT management roles within the departments of Energy and Justice as well as in the U.S. Navy.

Gross holds a CIO certificate from the National Defense University.
