FCW: Brian Burns Adds VA Chief Info Security Officer Role

Veterans Affairs Department logoBrian Burns has been appointed as chief information security officer at the Department of Veterans Affairs in addition to his role as deputy director of the joint VA-Defense Department Interagency Program Office, FCW reported Monday.

Adam Mazmanian writes Burns will succeed Dan Galick and be responsible for the implementation of the VA’s cybersecurity strategy.

FCW reports Burns has held senior information technology roles at the DoD and U.S. Air Force, as well as other positions at the departments of Interior, Health and Human Services, Education and Treasury.
