GSA: Integrated Award Environment Adopts GitHub as Source Code Repository

1 min read

GSAThe General Services Administration has announced that the Integrated Award Environment initiative has begun to use a cloud-based version control system as a repository for source codes.

IAE will use GitHub to share application programming interfaces and source codes with contractor developers, undo source code changes, detect and monitor software bugs and facilitate collaboration with other software developers, GSA said Friday.

IAE is a GSA-run Presidential E-Government program that works to improve federal awards management processes through the adoption of an integrated workforce system as well as user-focused approaches and Agile development techniques.

Software developers can view and assess IAE’s architecture documents through GitHub, according to GSA.

IAE also plans to use the GitHub system as one of the main channels for its OpenIAE platform as it works to transition to an open source architecture.
