The Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Tuesday the U.K. government requested Hellfire missiles and associated equipment from the U.S. Army stock through a foreign military sales agreement.
A part of the agreement covers the provision of parts and logistical support services.
The U.K. intends to use the missiles to respond to current and future threats on coalition ground forces.
