DHS - ExecutiveMosaicThe Department of Homeland Security’s privacy office has begun its search for new members of the data privacy and integrity advisory committee.

DHS said in a Federal Register notice posted Wednesday the department’s secretary will appoint 17 committee members who will each serve a three-year term.

The advisory panel was created in compliance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act’s provisions and works to provide advice and recommendations on issues related to data privacy, personally identifiable information and data integrity.

The committee crafts recommendations through briefings, studies and consultations with government and industry stakeholders, and convenes twice a year for public meetings, according to the notice.

DHS will accept applications through Jan. 4, 2016.
