Tony Scott Names Winners of CIO Council’s 2015 IT Solutions Challenge

Federal CIO Tony Scott has announced the winning teams in the inaugural CIO Council’s IT Solutions Challenge, which sought innovative solutions to federal IT and IT acquisition challenges.

“The solutions proposed through the 2015 IT Solutions Challenge can significantly enhance the work we do by fostering collaboration across the federal government and enabling us to drive greater value for the American people,” Scott wrote in a CIO.gov blog entry posted Monday.

Team Two won the judge’s award for its proposed FedIT professional social network for federal IT and acquisition professionals to collaborate and communicate federal IT policies and procedures.

Members of the team are from the Energy, Homeland Security, Justice and Transportation departments, NASA and the General Services Administration.

Team Five won the people’s choice award for Project GEMMAA, a cloud-based collaborative test environment for technology solutions.

Members of the team are from the Education, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development and Justice departments, NASA, GSA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
