Navy to Hold Small Business Expo on Fleet Innovation Efforts

U.S. NavyThe U.S. Navy will hold a small business conference at the San Diego Convention Center on Aug. 24 to 25 with a focus on integrating agility and innovation to fleet services.

Space and Naval Warfare System Command leaders will be in attendance at the Navy Gold Coast Small Business Procurement Event cosponsored by the National Defense Industrial Association’s San Diego chapter, the Navy said Tuesday.

SPAWAR Executive Director Pat Sullivan is scheduled to moderate a government and industry panel discussion focused on the significance of cybersecurity and small businesses that support Navy initiatives.

Carmela Keeney, executive director of SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific, will serve as moderator on a government panel on additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping and adaptive force packaging.

The Navy said representatives from its program executive office for command, control, communications, computers and intelligence will participate in “matchmaking” sessions where small businesses can network with business leaders and government decision-makers.
