The Federal Acquisition Service is reorganizing following a number of new staff changes at the General Services Administration’s main acquisition arm, according to an FAS memo.

Steve Kempf, commissioner of the FAS, who is staying put, issued the memo to FAS staff yesterday, writing the staff changes reflected the “transitions and new beginnings” that usually come at the end of a year, according to a report on Federal News Radio.

Joe Jeu, assistant commissioner for FAS’ General Supplies and Services portfolio, will leave FAS for another federal agency, beginning in the new year.

“Joe’s extensive knowledge of all things global supply and his deep commitment to our nation’s war fighters, GSS’ largest customer, has made a major impact on FAS,” Kempf wrote.

Bill Sisk, who is now the FAS Southeast Sunbelt Region commissioner, will serve as acting assistant commissioner beginning the day after Jeu leaves.

A 38-year veteran of government service, Ed O’Hare, assistant commissioner for the Integrated Technology Services portfolio, will retire Jan. 15, according to the memo.

Kempf praised O’Hares’ “commitment and passion” for his innovative work on acquisition, drawing attention to his work on the Future Commercial Satellite Acquisition project.

Taking over for O’Hare will be Mary Davie, who currently serves as the assistant commissioner of FAS’ Office of Assisted Acquisition Services.

Kempf praised Davie’s IT acquisition experience, leadership ability and her “innate understanding of customers’ needs,” all of which is complemented by her pioneering use of social media.
