PR Campaign to Educate Americans on Health IT

health itThe Health and Human Services Department has awarded PR firm Ketchum Inc. a $26 million contract to create a publicity campaign to educate Americans about the privacy and security of their personal information in or managed by health IT systems, according to Government Health IT.

Led by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT and the Office of Civil Rights and targeted toward consumers, patients and healthcare providers, the campaign aims to raise awareness of and participation in health IT adoption and health information exchange.

Over a two-year period, New York-based Ketchum will also purchase advertising, generate media interest and create web content, briefings and reports.
