The White House has launched a new online platform to provide businesses with information and services to aid with development and growth.

Federal Chief Information Officer Steven VanRoekel said in a blogpost that the administration had been working on the BusinessUSA website for the last several months.

VanRoekel said BusinessUSA will serve as a “virtual one-stop-shop” for business development resources such including patent and loan assistance, contracting opportunities and information on how to break into new markets.

The announcement comes after President Obama formally requested Congress for the authority to reorganize and consolidate federal government agencies on Thursday.

Through the new power Obama said he wanted to consolidate six federal trade and commerce agencies.

If consolidated, BusinessUSA would serve as the go-to site for the new business-focused department.
