Boeing CEO James McNerney shared his apprehensions about the impending effects of sequestration at an industry event held Tuesday, Philip Ewing reports on DoDBuzz.
McNerney indicated at the event that his company  is expecting the worst but hoping for the best when it comes to the uncertainty surrounding the Defense Department’s budget.
Ewing notes that McNerney did not offer a solution to avoid the across-the-board cuts, but suggested that his company may have to begin to reduce its workforce prior to the start of sequestration cuts.
The firm completes work on multiple aircraft programs with the Pentagon, including tankers for the Air Force, patrol planes for the Navy as well as other air vehicles for additional government agencies.
