Naval Research Office Looking to Award Potential $50M Contract for Development Help

The Office of Naval Research launched a $50 million program July 18 for small businesses that can develop technologies that can support the ONR and Navy’s needs and programs.

According to official documents, under the ONR’s Rapid Innovation Fund, selected companies could receive up to $3 million for developmental efforts.

The program is designed to develop technologies for operational challenges and national security needs of the Navy.

ONR said some areas of interest include enhancing energy security and independence, developing advanced materials for Navy apps, improving manufacturing technology and industrial base, and advancing microelectronics.
