HHS Advertising Info Security Lead Post Within SES

The Department of Health and Human Services is accepting applications for the chief information security officer post until Nov. 15, according to a USAJobs post reported by Fedscoop.

HHS says the hire will be responsible for implementing a department-wide security awareness training program as well as a role-based training program, which the department plans to use for strengthening knowledge and skills of its information security workforce.

The new CISO will also hold the title of senior agency information security officer and serve as senior adviser and program administrator to HHS’ chief information officer on the department’s information technology security program.

Some program areas under the CISO’s responsibility include security policy, procedures, technical standards, security scanning on web applications and and databases, compliance reviews, incident handling and reports required under the Federal Information Security Management Act.

This position is advertised as a full-time Senior Executive Service post with an annual salary between $119,554 and $179,700 per year.
