Charles Beames Joins SES as DoD Space, Intell Director

The Defense Department has appointed Charles Beames principal director for space and intelligence within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for acquisition, technology and logistics.

According to a Pentagon release, Beames also was named to the Senior Executive Service with that promotion.

Beames previously served as strategic adviser for space and intelligence within that office.

In his previous position, Fedscoop reports he held acquisition oversight for the department’s space-based and national intelligence programs.

Prior to that, he served as director for ISR systems (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) in the under secretary’s space and intelligence office.

Before joining the OUSD, he served as chief of the operational capabilities division at U.S. Strategic Command’s center for combating weapons of mass destruction.
