McDonnell: VA Could Lose 164K Jobs Under Sequestration

Virginia stands to lose more than164,000 jobs if automatic across-the-board budget cuts under sequestration go into effect, Gov. Bob McDonnell wrote in a letter to President Barack Obama.

According to the Daily Press, that McDonnell also said that Northern Virginia would absorb more than 60 percent of these losses, Hampton Roads would absorb approximately 20 percent and Richmond 12 percent.”

McDonnell said Obama should work with the Congress to mitigate the impacts of sequestration, according to the report.
