OPM Choosing Hiring Freeze Over Furloughs

EmptyOfficeFEMAThe Office of Personnel Management does not plan to place its employees on furloughs as a means to help manage the automatic cuts under sequestration, GovExec reports.

An agency spokesman told the website the agency instead plans to implement operational and administrative cost-cutting measures and a hiring freeze.

OPM froze hiring last year in a move aimed at preparing for the sequester, Lunney writes.
