Chuck Hagel to Discuss North Korea Situation With Japan, South Korea Defense Heads

NorthKoreaDefense Secretary Chuck Hagel will meet with defense leaders from Japan and South Korea later this week to discuss North Korea’s aggressive actions such as the recent nuclear tests, Defense News reports.

Marcus Weisgerber writes Hagel will meet with the leaders at the annual Shangri-La Dialogue security conference in Singapore.

A senior U.S. official told Defense News North Korea’s actions will be the dominant item of discussion at the summit.

This will be the fourth time the three defense officials have met at the Shangri-La Dialogue.

Hagel will also meet with Japan and Australia for a trilateral discussion on matters in the Asia-Pacific region, Weisgerber reports.
