Martin Indyk is expected to be named the next U.S. envoy for Middle East peace, Reuters reported Sunday.
Arshad Mohammed writes that sources said Indyk, a former U.S. ambassador to Israel, is expected to be named to the new post within the week.
Reports of Indyk’s appointment comes as Israel and Palestine resume direct peace talks in Washington Monday.
Indyk currently serves as Brookings Institution vice president and director for foreign policy.
