The nominee to head the Office of Personnel Management told a Senate committee Tuesday she plans to hire advisers to help execute the agency’s healthcare programs, Federal News Radio reported Wednesday.
Jason Miller writes Archuleta told the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee that if confirmed, she will assemble a team of healthcare experts to implement the Affordable Care Act and manage the Federal Employee Health Benefits Plan.
Senators also asked Archuleta about the Health Insurance Marketplace, a federal program to create multi-state plans via private health insurance contracting.
Archuleta said OPM has been making progress on its part in the HIM plan.
Miller reports the agency will likely meet the Oct. 1 deadline on the multi-state exchanges.
John Berry left the agency as director in April.
