DOE Labs to Host Small Business Fair

NSF_buildingTwo national laboratories are co-hosting a fair Monday to help small businesses and start-up companies learn more about procurement and efforts to develop and commercialize technologies, FCW reported Monday.

Mark Rockwell writes the Argonne and Fermi national laboratories intend for participants to interact with lab staffers and hear about subcontracting, procurement, technology transfer, sponsored research and engagements with scientific users.

Argonne and Fermi want to award at least half of all contracts to small businesses and 3 percent each to woman-owned, disadvantaged small businesses, service-disabled veteran and historically underutilized business zone categories, Argonne spokesman Alex Mitchell told FCW.

Mitchell told FCW the event’s registration list has more than 140 people from 84 businesses.
