1 min read

ARMYThe U.S. Army is set to unveil a new camouflage pattern which will likely be phased in next year, according to what Sergeant Major Raymond Chandler told a group of troops, which Military Times then reported on.

Lance Bacon writes that the new pattern will be similar to the “MultiCam” pattern that is currently used in Afghanistan and made by Crye Precision LLCB.

The Army wants three combat uniforms that include woodland, desert and transitional versions.

The search began in 2010 by testing 22 patterns over a year period in 45 different terrains.

Last summer, fifty uniforms for each pattern were put through field trials in almost every global environment and terrain, according to the article.

Earlier this year, the House of Representatives voted to have all military branches share one camouflage pattern.
