Acting Air Force Eric Fanning expects the branch to get the required funding for the F-35Â and aerial-tanker programs for next fiscal year, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday.
Doug Cameron writes Fanning did not disclose the Air Forceâs plans regarding its share of 1,700 F-35 jets the military has ordered from Lockheed Martin.
Fanning told reporters at the 2013 Air & Space Conference in National Harbor, Md. his office is considering cutting an entire aircraft fleet for fiscal year 2015, the Journal reports.
Each service branch received a 10 percent budget cut when sequestration took effect in March, according to the Journal.
