Colby Hochmuth interviewed Mark Forman, federal chief information officer from 2001 to 2003, as saying that continuous monitoring of the architecture is one aspect of cloud computing that federal IT executives should disregard.
âEven though youâre not managing or using that application, if itâs reachable by the Internet it needs to be monitored and protected,â Forman said.
âBecause of the nature of the networks and virtualization of these data centers, even if the application isnât being run, if itâs accessible via the network the security needs to be maintained,â he added.
