Report: Most Furloughed Feds to Get Back Pay Next Week

money-graphRetroactive pay for most federal employees who were furloughed during the 16-day government shutdown will reflect on their Oct. 25 paycheck, GovExec reported Thursday.

Kellie Lunney writes the some workers might have to wait until after that date because paycheck issuances depend on an agency’s payroll provider.

The Defense Finance and Accounting Service will include back pay for civilian, retired and active-duty military personnel in the upcoming payday, according to the report.

DFAS also serves the departments of Energy, Health and Human Services and Veterans Affairs, Lunney writes.
