Damien Pickart: New Pentagon Mobile Mgmt System To Be Ready in January 2014

HTCphoneLt. Col. Damien Pickart has said the Pentagon will begin provisioning of iOS and Android devices on its new mobile device management and mobile application store system in January, Federal Times reported Wednesday.

Nicole Blake Johnson writes Digital Management Inc. is building the enterprise MDM/MAS infrastructure under a contract awarded by the Defense Information Systems Agency.

DISA expects the MDM platform to support as many as 300,000 devices in the next three years and 100,000 users in 2014, according to the report.

Johnson writes Pickart, a department spokesperson, told the publication that the Pentagon approved Samsung Knox and BlackBerry devices to operate on its enterprise network.
