Dan Doney, Gus Taveras: Intell Agencies Eye Shared IT Services Amid Sequestration

cloudFederal intelligence agencies are planning to transition to a shared information technology environment as sequestration budget cuts appear set to stay in place, Federal Times reported Thursday.

Andy Medici writes the Intelligence Community Information Technology Enterprise intends to build a shared platform for the CIA, Defense Intelligence Agency, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency.

Dan Doney, chief innovation officer at DIA, told a webinar that sequestration is pushing the agency to migrate to a shared environment, according to Medici’s report.

DIA Chief Technology Officer Gus Taveras also told the webinar government agencies will collaborate with the private sector on how to release information regarding the planned shared platform, Federal Times reports.
