Annette Moore, acting chief information officer at NASA‘s Johnson Space Center, says the center has established a team that works directly with IT providers out of a vendor management office, Federal News Radio reported Thursday.

Jason Miller writes that Moore said NASA created the office to help vendors interact with agency personnel during IT acquisition processes.

Moore also aims for the center to migrate into a cloud computing environment and expand its use of newer technology, Miller reports.

“I have a game-changing challenge for my IT organization right now to look more into areas that we can move into the cloud,” Moore added, according to the report.

“So we are looking in 2014 at how we can expand that and really make some game changing moves for 2014.”

Moore also said that JSC has customer service agents who work to focus organization’s mission areas.

“They are listening to and hearing what the needs of the customers are, what their challenges are and what looks like the type of IT organization that will meet their business needs,” she told the radio station.
