Chris White: DARPA Posts Tech Resources Online Catalog for Computer Scientists

big_data_EMThe Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has launched a website that gives the public access to information on federally-funded technology research and development efforts.

DARPA Open Catalog provides a list of open-source codes and peer-reviewed articles and seeks to encourage developers to create platforms that can aid defense activities, DARPA said Tuesday.

“Our hope is that the computer science community will test and evaluate elements of our software and afterward adopt them as either standalone offerings or as components of their products,” said Chris White, a DARPA program manager.

The site also features sources regarding the agency’s XDATA project, which explores techniques and tools for processing volumes of mission-critical data.
