Steven VanRoekel, federal chief information officer, has revealed the major points of the fiscal year 2015 budget proposal, FCW reported Thursday.
Troy Schneider writes VanRoekel told an American Council for Technology-Industry Advisory Council-sponsored event that technology and innovation are the dominant themes of the budget plan.
âWe have a modest tech budget compared to the federal budget, but we are moving a sector of the economy through our actions,” he said.
The federal CIO urged information technology managers at the event to form partnerships in various areas, including acquisition and personnel and to take the private sector into consideration, FCW reports.
VanRoekel added that the private sectorâs input must be integrated with the career staff, according to the report.
Schneider writes that VanRoekel asked the event participants to figure out strategies to work around an acquisition threshold of $150,000.
