Chuck Hagel Briefs Private Sector on FY 2015 Defense Budget Plan

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has discussed the Pentagon’s $496 billion proposed budget for the next fiscal year with the Business Roundtable, Reuters reported Wednesday.

David Alexander reports Hagel held the meeting Wednesday afternoon to brief the group on the budget plan’s underlying goals and discuss the economic impact of Crimea’s annexation.

Business Roundtable leaders are currently in Washington for a closed-door quarterly meeting, according to the report.

The coalition represents chief executives of large U.S. corporations in the defense, technology, healthcare and manufacturing sectors.
