Presidential LimoThe Department of Homeland Security has started accepting proposals from domestic car manufacturers for the second phase of a program to build an armored presidential limousine.

DHS said March 7 in a FedBizOpps solicitation notice that a selected vendor would integrate and test exterior and interior features, chassis and automotive components.

A firm-fixed-price contract for phase 2 work will include options to perform the succeeding limo validation and production phases, the agency said.

The agency plans to award the phase two contract by Aug. 29.
