European Commission Taps HP for Cloud Data Project; Xavier Poisson Gouyou Beauchamps Comments

HPLogo1-EbizThe European Commission has selected Hewlett-Packard to manage a cloud computing project for users to share data in a secure environment.

HP will lead a team of industrial and academic partners to coordinate the exchange of data between users and cloud platforms for the Coco (confidential and compliant) Cloud project, HP said Thursday.

Xavier Poisson Gouyou Beauchamps, vice president of HP Cloud EMEA, said the project is aimed at addressing security requirements for cloud-based data consumption.

The team will work to connect data repository and user device in accordance with user-defined data access and storage policies.

The cloud framework will be hosted on HP’s OpenStack-based CloudOS platform.
