Deloitte Consulting has been selected to continue work for Nevada’s health insurance online marketplace upon a recommendation from the state’s Department of Health and Human Services Director Mike Willden, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Thursday.

“My feeling was if you wanted action quickly you needed someone who isn’t at ground zero,” Willden said, noting Deloitte’s familiarity with the system.

Deloitte’s experience in Nevada includes work to synch the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange with the federal HHS, Medicaid, and income and Social Security verification under the Affordable Care Act.

Under the new contract, the firm will review the online portal and call center set up by Xerox and provide recommendations to improve site performance.

Deloitte has received endorsement from the SSHIX board of directors for the proposed project, which is subject to approval by the state board of examiners approval.
