Phil McAlister: NASA Seeks Ideas to Spur Entreprenurial Activity for Commercial Space Program

1 min read

spaceNASA plans to release an announcement for proposals on Monday to seek ideas from the private sector on how unfunded partnership projects could help develop new technologies for the commercial space industry.

The agency will use Space Act Agreements to plan collaborative work with the goal of fulfilling the 2014 Strategic Plan Collaborations for Commercial Space Capabilities initiative’s aims, NASA said Tuesday.

“We hope these partnerships will increase the likelihood that these entrepreneurial activities will be successful,” said Phil McAlister, director of commercial spaceflight development at NASA.

NASA has scheduled a pre-proposal teleconference on April 3 to answer questions on the initiative.
