Myron Marlin, formerly director of communications at the Securities and Exchange Commission, has joined FTI Consulting as managing director of strategic communications and will be responsible for financial communications and public affairs.
“Myron will play a key role in further developing our crisis and issues management offering to protect and advance our clients’ reputations when facing regulatory-driven events,” Edward Reilly, FTI global CEO of strategic communications, said Thursday.
Marlin is a 20-year communications veteran with experience in the commercial, financial and public sectors.
During his time at SEC, he served as a communication adviser to the chairman and guided officials on congressional testimony and media interviews.
He has also handled litigation and mergers and acquisitions communications at a global communications company and has worked with the Justice Department, Drug Enforcement Administration, FBI and the former Immigration and Naturalization Service.
Marlin is a recipient of the Edmond J. Randolph Award for Outstanding Service for his communications counsel to the U.S. attorney general on several high-profile cases.
