Blackboard logoThe U.S. Army War College will use Blackboard‘s cloud-based teaching and learning platform to carry out online training programs for high-ranking military officials.

Blackboard said Thursday that the college adopted the program for its Resident Program and the two-year, graduate-level Distance Education Program for senior military leadership competency development.

Learners will need a username and password to access course materials and learning content such as virtual classes and web conferences through their personal devices, Blackboard said.

“USAWC’s distance education program has a long history of educating highly accomplished military leaders and arming them with strategic skills necessary to wage a successful military campaign,” said Maurice Heiblum, senior vice president for the higher education, corporate and government markets for Blackboard.

“There is no room for gaps in training our military elites, and we are honored to partner with USAWC to help them prepare military personnel in a way that truly fosters collaboration and real-time engagement.”

The company said it secured the deal through its partnership with the Army Training and Doctrine Command.
