VA Seeks Esri-Like Geographic Info Tools to Track Outbreaks

GISgraphicsThe Department of Veterans Affairs is looking to acquire brand name Esri geographic information software or other products with similar features that the agency wants to use for tracking chronic diseases and outbreaks among the veteran population.

An April 2 request for information from the VA lists 11 types of software licenses and related maintenance surfaces the agency is interested in purchasing under a one-year contract if awarded.

Such software must be able to handle data of more than 35 terabytes and provide location analytics to users, the VA says.

The VA is also requiring the software to be interoperable with other federal systems used by the Department of Homeland Security and other national security agencies.
