Report: HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan Eyed for OMB Top Post

Shaun DonovanPresident Barack Obama is set to nominate Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan to the top post at the Office of Management and Budget, the New York Times reported Saturday.

Ryan McDermott writes Donovan would replace outgoing OMB chief Sylvia Mathews Burwell and San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro would take Donovan’s spot at HUD.

The report noted that Obama recognized Donovan’s contributions as a public official at a fundraising dinner Wednesday and cited Donovan’s work to help New York and New Jersey recover from Hurricane Sandy.

Burwell is facing a Senate confirmation for the health and human services secretary post.
