Cicely LaMothe Named SEC Associate Director for Corporate Finance; Keith Higgins Comments

Securities and Exchange CommissionCicely LaMothe, formerly acting assistant director of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s office of real estate and commodities, has been appointed as associate director of SEC’s corporation finance division.

LaMothe will report to Deputy Director Shelley Parratt within the division’s disclosure program, along with current associate directors Paul Belvin, James Daly, Karen Garnett and Barry Summer, the SEC said Wednesday.

“Her experience and skills as an accountant will enhance our oversight of corporate disclosure,” said Keith Higgins, director of the corporation finance division.

LaMothe previously served as senior assistant chief accountant of the real estate and commodities office since 2011 before she held the role as the office’s acting assistant director in November 2013.

She was also the accounting branch chief and staff accountant in the division’s disclosure operations program.

LaMothe held various positions in the private sector for six years before she joined the SEC in 2002.
