Nearly 90 percent of respondents to a TechAmerica survey of federal chief information officers said their agencies have migrated to a cloud computing infrastructure, Federal News Radio reported Monday.
TechAmerica polled 60 CIOs and other information technology personnel across the government for its research.
Many federal CIOs surveyed plan to incorporate collaboration and testing tools into their departments’ cloud-based systems, according to the radio station.
Thirty-six percent of government IT departments already use email services in the cloud and 21 percent run an online cloud portal or service, the report states.
One agency that participated in the TechAmerica survey aims to save more than $10 million per year by adopting an enterprise email cloud system, according to the station.
