Walter E. Carter Jr. Nominated Vice Admiral/ Superintendent of Naval Academy

DoD logo resizeSecretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced today that the president has nominated Navy Rear Admiral Walter E. Carter Jr. to the position of Vice Admiral and Superintendent of the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, the DOD reported.

Carter has been serving as president of the Naval War College in Rhode Island, and will be taking the place of Vice Admiral Michael H. Miller at the Naval Academy.

Carter has served as President of the Naval War College since July 2013.
