FBI to Move Development Team to Amazon’s Cloud

cloudThe FBI plans to transition its operational technology division to an Amazon-hosted could environment, FCW reported Thursday.

Adam Mazmanian writes the FBI issued a request for proposals seeking an Amazon cloud platform for its development, testing and production operations.

The Quantico, Virginia-based development team works to design tools for FBI personnel to analyze intelligence, perform digital forensics and surveillance and communicate, according to the report.

The potential contractor will work to train system administrators and developers, as well as to provide a Federal Information Security Management Act -compliant system, the report says.

Mazmanian writes the FBI expects to award a contract with a one-year base period and four option years in August.
