DARPA Requests Info on Networked Maritime Operations

1 min read

DARPAThe Strategic Technology Office of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has issued a request for information on supporting architecture and components to establish networked maritime operations across undersea, surface and above-surface environments.

“The goal is to maintain and enhance U.S. maritime superiority using distributed and disaggregated systems as force multipliers for scarce capital assets, or that may provide unique stand-alone capability,” stated the notice posted Monday on FedBizOpps.

DARPA is also looking for a system-of-systems architecture that will enable adaptability to new missions or threats, survivable networking and communications across platforms, integration with existing systems and operations and long-endurance operations.

The agency also highlighted the need for cost effectivity in the operations, fielding and proliferation of the relevant infrastructure and technology assets.

Responses from interested parties should include information on the required elements, functions, tools, design methodologies and perceived challenges, among other key points.

DARPA will accept responses through Sept. 19.
