GSA Secures 23% Discount for Gov’t Official Air Travel in FY 2015

AirportRunwayThe General Services Administration has awarded air travel contracts to eight U.S. carriers in a move that GSA says could save taxpayers nearly $2.3 billion.

Federal government officials traveling after Oct. 1 will get a 23 percent discount below benchmark fares under the City Pair Program, GSA said Thursday.

Domestic flight ticket prices have decreased four percent on an average and below one percent compared to a year-ago rate for international flights.

The number of markets with dual fares also increased to 6,921 in 2014, according to GSA.
