OMB Adds PortfolioStat Metrics to Federal IT Dashboard

chart moneyThe U.S. Office of Management and Budget has published data on federal agencies’ progress toward fulfilling three government-wide objectives for information technology portfolio management.

OMB uses the performance metrics during internal discussions with other agencies as part of the PortfolioStat review process, the Chief Information Officers Council said Tuesday.

The metric system is designed to gauge agencies’ efforts to drive value in their IT investments, deliver digital services and protect infrastructure and information.

OMB also intends to publicly share metrics related to federal data center modernization projects.

The agency will post statistics on facility and storage utilization and virtual hosts on the dashboard for public review, the CIO Council said.
