National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Director Robert Cardillo has urged government, business and academic organizations to collaborate with NGA to harness the power of GEOINT systems and information.

Cardillo, an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 list for 2015, noted at the 2015 GEOINT Symposium the agency’s plan to help analysts leverage unclassified geospatial data through agency-industry partnerships, NGA said.

“It will be less about how much content our people can deliver and more about how quickly we can parse and make sense of it — to deliver context and coherence to our customers by finding meaning behind, beneath and between the data,” he told forum audience.

He intends for NGA to implement automated analytic tools and methods for delivering content, as well as to develop strategies to address acquisition issues at the agency.

Cardillo noted that GEOINT sharing initiatives will require the development of policies, a cross-training approach and international standards.
